About us

Acupuncture is a conversation between the two of us as well as something else (Magic? God? The Universe? Science?). I offer a connection to a few thousand years of lineage medicine alongside a desire to help you learn about your bloodwork or recent biomedical diagnoses. I believe that wellness is not just the absence of sickness, but the presence of agency over your life and body, the presence of laughter and pleasure and joy, and of feeling centered and at home in your body. My promise as your practitioner is to be curious and honest, and to listen. I may not always know what the right answer is for you but I will tell you if I think that I’m the right person to help you, or if I think you would be suited for a different modality or practitioner.

My approach is that less is usually more, except when it isn’t. I’m generally pretty gentle, except when I’m not. I don’t offer, nor do I believe in, magic-silver-bullet fixes or one-size-fits-all medicine. What I do believe is that wellness and health should be accessible, and do not need to be fancy or overcomplicated. I aim to practice body-neutral medicine and invite you into a place where you can explore what this means. Sometimes I do recommend supplements or herbal remedies, but not until I have a better understanding of you and your health.

Conditions I treat or support treatment of: reproductive health of any kind for any gender (this can range from menstrual cramps and PMS to fertility struggles and IVF support to erectile dysfunction to perinatal care and postpartum support, and so much more); autoimmune conditions (or suspected autoimmune conditions); Spinal injuries; Osteoarthritis; Any kind of body pain; Digestive issues (chronic constipation, diarrhea, SIBO, Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis, etc); Side effects of cancer treatment and chemotherapy; Hypermobility/EDS support; Immune system strengthening; Post-stroke recovery (currently offered only through home visits)

About me

My name is Haley, I’m an acupuncturist located in Portland, OR. After attending the Oregon College of [Oriental] Medicine, I started my clinical career in 2025 volunteering with the Acupuncture Relief Project in rural Nepal for 2.5 months. There I learned how to do primary health care in a community acupuncture setting, and learned about my own practice interests. My goal with creating this clinic is to weave care and community into a healing space where you can explore what it means to be in your body.

I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in History of Art & Visual Culture and Feminist Studies, and believe I can make anyone love contemporary art with adequate context. I spent my twenties working in bars and restaurants, and found acupuncture and herbal medicine around this time. I like being in the ocean and in rivers, attempting to rock climb, cooking elaborate meals with and for loved ones, camping or backpacking when the weather is nice, and reading bad fantasy books when it’s not. When I’m not working or playing, I enjoy walking with my familiar, a cat named Dragon.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a part of a medical system that dates back thousands of years, and has lasted and adapted through that time alongside cultural shifts. It involves the insertion of hair-fine, single-use needles into the body to stimulate the release of endorphins and neurotransmitters that up-regulate your parasympathetic nervous system, stimulate your body’s own innate healing response.

The ethos of acupuncture and Traditional East Asian Medicine always comes down to balance: moving what’s stuck, warming what’s cold, cooling what’s hot, nourishing deficiency and draining excess. My personal approach to health and longevity is also rooted in balance, ultimately seeking to empower you to feel like your health and your life is in your own hands. I believe in the power of good and consistent health care in allowing us to access more joy in our bodies and day-to-day lives.

Orthopedic Acupuncture

This style of acupuncture is for both acute and chronic pain, sports injuries, sciatica, arthritis, tendinitis, and pre- or post-surgical recovery. It is an umbrella term that includes motor point acupuncture along with what is often called “dry needling” and “trigger point acupuncture.” The insertion of needles in this way can help stimulate neural pathways that reinforce or reestablish your brain-to-muscle connection, along with stimulating the release of endorphins and endogenous (made by your body) opiods to relieve pain. Orthopedic acupuncture is sometimes used alongside instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization techniques such as guasha and cupping. Is is exceptionally effective when used in conjunction with physical therapy rehabilitation.

Acupuncture for Fertility and Reproductive Health

Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM) (also called Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)) is frequently recommended by Western Medicine practitioners as a complementary therapy for IVF and fertility treatments. Meta-analyses suggest that the use of TEAM treatments alongside IVF is associated with significantly higher clinical pregnancy and live birth rates compared to IVF alone. This works by working on enhancing blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, improving endometrial lining thickness, and potentially improving egg quality. We can also work together to address other gynecological issues such as PCOS, endometriosis, painful periods, PMDD, diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), and irregular or absent cycles.

Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal remedies are customized for patients to best fit their ailments. Herbal formulas have been proven effective in the treatment of chronic and acute conditions such as: chronic and acute digestive ailments, common cold and flu, long covid, gynecological disorders, infertility, erectile dysfunction, stress management, insomnia, and pain management. We will also discuss dietary therapy and potential lifestyle adjustments that can impact your health and well-being.
