About us

Acupuncture is a conversation between the two of us as well as something else (Magic? God? The Universe? Science?). I offer a connection to a few thousand years of lineage medicine alongside a desire to help you learn about your bloodwork or recent biomedical diagnoses. I believe that wellness is not just the absence of sickness, but the presence of agency over your life and body, the presence of laughter and pleasure and joy, and of feeling centered and at home in your body. My promise as your practitioner is to be curious and honest, and to listen. I may not always know what the right answer is for you but I will tell you if I think that I’m the right person to help you, or if I think you would be suited for a different modality or practitioner.

My approach is that less is usually more, except when it isn’t. I’m generally pretty gentle, except when I’m not. I don’t offer, nor do I believe in, magic-silver-bullet fixes or one-size-fits-all medicine. What I do believe is that wellness and health should be accessible, and do not need to be fancy or overcomplicated. I aim to practice body-neutral medicine and invite you into a place where you can explore what this means. Sometimes I do recommend supplements or herbal remedies, but not until I have a better understanding of you and your health.

Conditions I treat or support treatment of: reproductive health of any kind for any gender (this can range from menstrual cramps and PMS to fertility struggles and IVF support to erectile dysfunction to perinatal care and postpartum support, and so much more); autoimmune conditions (or suspected autoimmune conditions); Spinal injuries; Osteoarthritis; Any kind of body pain; Digestive issues (chronic constipation, diarrhea, SIBO, Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis, etc); Side effects of cancer treatment and chemotherapy; Hypermobility/EDS support; Immune system strengthening; Post-stroke recovery (currently offered only through home visits)

About me

My name is Haley, I’m an acupuncturist located in Portland, OR. After attending the Oregon College of [Oriental] Medicine, I started my clinical career in 2025 volunteering with the Acupuncture Relief Project in rural Nepal for 2.5 months. There I learned how to do primary health care in a community acupuncture setting, and learned about my own practice interests. My goal with creating this clinic is to weave care and community into a healing space where you can explore what it means to be in your body.

I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in History of Art & Visual Culture and Feminist Studies, and believe I can make anyone love contemporary art with adequate context. I spent my twenties working in bars and restaurants, and found acupuncture and herbal medicine around this time. I like being in the ocean and in rivers, cooking elaborate meals with and for loved ones, camping or backpacking when the weather is nice, and reading bad fantasy books when it’s not. When I’m not working or playing, I enjoy walking with my familiar, a cat named Dragon.

About Acupuncture

It’s one of the oldest evidence-based medicines, and while there is abdundant evidence of its effectiveness, no one really knows why it works. There are many theories of why acupuncture works: some say it’s a neurological response, some say muscular depolarization, some say it’s communication of fascial networks, some say it’s a histamine response, T-cells activating, micro-traumas, lymphatics, osteoblasts and clasts, infinite etc… Realistically, it’s all those things and more that we can’t yet understand, and a part of me hopes we never fully unlock that mystery. There are plenty of scientific studies that demonstrate acupuncture’s effectiveness, and there are plenty of people on the internet calling it pseudoscience / snake oil / charlatanism. If you’re curious, come try it. And know that the World Health Organization lists acupuncture as an effective treatment modality for the following:
